Manchester United and Chelsea have locked horns to get the signature of multiple players. One such position both clubs are looking to get the best player in the market is a striker. Chelsea and Manchester United have struggled to get the strikers to score and create goals and have set their sights on Victor Osimhen, who has fallen out of favor at Napoli. While the conversations have been around the player’s wages and the transfer fee, it seems to be that the Blues have concluded.

The London-based outfit is closer to reaching an impasse with the player not budging to the wage structure of the club. Chelsea have an incentive-driven wage structure but Victor Osimhen is not ready to accept the same. With this, the club might pursue other options as an upgrade to Nicolas Jackson who has blown hot and cold. On the other hand, Manchester United have financial troubles which have culminated over the last few years. Due to this, not only the club has struggled to arrange the funds for the player but also about the astronomical wages. It remains interesting to see how this would pan out at the end of the campaign.

Multiple reports also suggest that the Premier League giants might lock horns again for Liam Delap, who continues to reap success at Ipswich Town. Alan Shearer had his say about the same:

He’s already been linked with a number of clubs in the Premier League and looking at who he’s been linked with I think he can go in and command a starting role, because he’s better than anything Man Utd have got up front. He’s also better than anything Chelsea have got up front, so the answer is simple – yes, he would start for those clubs

What does Ruben Amorim think about the summer transfer window?

According to recent reports, Manchester United's gaffer has asked the club hierarchy about two big signings before the next season starts. The club has gone on to secure the youngsters but only Patrick Dorgu has been a senior side signing. The report stated that the Portuguese gaffer also believes that he will not get as much time as Sir Alex Ferguson. The report said:

Ruben Amorim wants "one or two big players" to reinforce Manchester United's squad in the summer but has reiterated he will not get as much time as Sir Alex Ferguson had to transform the club.
