The ongoing Champions League 2024-25 has been different in recent times, given the structure of the tournament. This time around, 24 teams have qualified for the next round of the campaign. The top eight teams include Arsenal, Liverpool, and Barcelona, whereas it does not have the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, who are the usual suspects of the automatic qualification.
Amidst these, the efforts of European Football to take the sport to every corner of the continent is on a rise. The finals of the ongoing campaign will happen in Allianz Arena, Bayern, going against the fact that Real Madrid registered the victory against Borussia Dortmund last season.
When are the Champions League 2024-25 finals?
The 2024-25 Champions League finals will be played on 31st May, 2025, on a Saturday where the two of the best teams of the tournament will go loggerheads to register the title. With the Swiss Model being followed this year, it would be no surprise if two teams that havent won the title in recent years might show up on 31st May at Allianz Arena. Though the game timings are yet to be decided by the UEFA authorities, it will be around the 3 PM ET or 8 PM GMT like the traditional approach.
Where will the next Champions League finals be held?
While UEFA had followed a rule in recent years that the finals were played at the home ground of previous winners, the idea of taking sport to every corner of the continent has made it possible for the likes of Hungary to host the coveted finals. The 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League finals will be played in Budapest, Hungary, which has the capacity to host around 67000 fans.
The 2027 showdown is yet to be decided by the UEFA as they look forward to receiving the update by the Italian Football Association regarding their renovations of the San Siro Stadium. If that is finalized and remains untouched, the next finals can happen in Milan.
