Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly not interested in signing legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. Recently, reports surfaced that the Ligue 1 giants are making a move to include the Portugal striker. Journalist Pedro Almeida had reported earlier that PSG and Ronaldo agreed to a possible transfer.
However, a fresh report through Fabrice Hawkins and Djamel has denied all the rumours claiming that PSG are not at all interested in the legendary footballer's signing. Ronaldo has played for numerous top clubs in his illustrious career. He started his career in Portugal with Sporting CP before joining Manchester United in 2003.
He made a move to Real Madrid, six years later, in 2009, and stayed with them for nine seasons before joining Juventus. Much to everyone’s surprise, the 39-year-old returned to Manchester United in 2021 but his stint ended on a controversial note after a fallout with then-manager Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr then and has been playing for the Saudi Pro League club, since then. He has made 76 appearances across competitions for Al-Nassr scoring 71 goals.
Ronaldo’s comments related to Ligue 1 seeks attention
Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo claimed that the Saudi Pro League is more competitive than Ligue 1. Moreover, he also stated that Ligue 1 only has PSG while the other teams are finished. “Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. Try to sprint in 38, 39, 40 degree weather and see. Ligue 1 only has PSG. The other teams are finished,” he said at the Global Soccer Awards in Dubai in December 2024.
On expected lines, former France international star Adil Rami didn’t like Ronaldo’s statement and slammed him for the same, calling it a PR stunt as well.
“He talks s***. You want me to show you images of the defenders in Saudi Arabia. It's not because he's had a crazy career that as soon as he says something it's the truth. I think it's a PR stunt. We have defenders, they are machines! You put him in Ligue 1 and he gets eaten,” Rami said (via Mirror).
