An exceptional display of hockey was on display in the clash between Hyderabad Toofans and Kalinga Lancers. The Toofans won the thrilling match 5-1 on Sunday (January 12). With their only second outright win in six matches, Hyderabad Toofans have jumped to second place in the latest points table update. They have 10 points to show for their efforts, only two fewer than the league leaders Tamil Nadu Dragons, who also have an extra game in hand.

Meanwhile, Kalinga Lancers have slipped to sixth position with their third outright loss in six outings. Overall, they have lost five with a couple of them also coming in the shootout. The Lancers have won only one match so far and have only seven points to show. Team Gonasika and Delhi SG Pipers are below them in the table with four points each. Delhi SG Pipers are the only team without an outright win this season after playing five matches so far.

Among other teams, UP Rudras are in third place while the table toppers only a few days ago, Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers find themselves in fourth position. Soorma Hockey Club are sitting in fifth place with one outright win and two shootout wins in five matches and a win in the next game can shoot them up in the table.
