2024 Paris Olympics: Check Out The Full Schedule Of India On Day 1

The day is finally here for the 2024 Paris Olympics to formally commence. A grand opening ceremony on July 26th will kick off the tournament. As for the events, the Indian Archery team has set a nice tone for the Indian campaign ahead. The men's and women's teams earned direct tickets to the archery quarter-finals after concluding the ranking round in third and fourth place, respectively. Now, the Indian contingent, consisting of 117 athletes who will compete across 16 disciplines at the Olympics, will be in action from July 27th. On the first day, the Indian shooting team will be at the forefront along with the badminton squad. Overall, July 27th will see the Indian contingent competing across seven disciplines, including tennis and table tennis.

Day 1 At Paris Olympics: Shooting, Badminton, And Hockey Teams In Action For India

The Indian Olympics campaign will start with the shooting team at the forefront. While the individual 10-m air rifle tournament has only the qualification round lined up on July 27th, the mixed doubles event will simultaneously wrap up the finals along with qualification on the same day. For India, Ramita Jindal-Arjun Babuta and Elavenil Valarivan-Sandeep Singh will feature in the mixed event. The top four teams at the end of the qualification round will advance to the medal event scheduled later on the same day.

The top two teams from the qualification round will play for the gold and silver medals, while the third and fourth-ranked pairs will battle it out in the bronze medal match. In the individual 10-m air pistol event, Arjun Singh Cheema, Sarabjot Singh, Manu Bhaker, and Rhythm Sangwan will be in action. The shooting event will commence at 12:30 PM IST, with the last round of the day scheduled for 4:00 PM IST.

In another event, the Indian men's hockey team will take the field against New Zealand in the opening round. Moreover, a thrilling lineup awaits the Indian badminton team on Saturday. Ace badminton pair Satwik-Chirag will be in action on the first day in the men's doubles event. Lakshya Sen, meanwhile, will play the group stage match in the men's singles event. Lastly, for badminton, Tanisha Crasto-Ashwini Ponnappa will play their group match in the women's doubles event.
