As many as 17 days are left for the start of the much-awaited 2024 Paris Olympics. The 33rd edition of the Summer Olympic Games is set to be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11 this year. Paris Olympics 2024 will showcase 32 sports, including the 28 "core" Olympic sports. The 2024 Paris Olympic Games will commence on July 26. The men's golf tournament will start approximately one week after the opening ceremony, and the women's tournament will begin the following week. Each tournament lasts four days and follows stroke play rules, similar to other major golf competitions. Medals are awarded to the top three golfers with the fewest strokes. Golf at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games

A four-member golf team will represent India at the Paris Olympics 2024. Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar, Shubhankar Sharma, and Gaganjeet Bhullar qualified for the Games by being among the top 60 athletes in the Olympic Golf Rankings. Shubhankar Sharma was ranked 48th, while Gaganjeet Bhullar was 54th in the men's OGR list. Interestingly, both male golfers will be making their Olympic debut in Paris. Sharma was the No. 1 player in Asia in 2018 and has won twice on the European Tour.

Meanwhile, Gaganjeet Bhullar has won the Asian Tour championship 11 times and secured a silver medal in the 2006 Asian Games. In contrast, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar ranked 25th and 41st on the women's OGR list. Aditi missed the podium finish in Tokyo as she finished fourth in the standings. Meanwhile, Diksha finished T-50 and will look to improve her performance in her second Olympic outing. It will be interesting to see if experienced athletes will help India secure their first Olympic medal in golf.

Golf venue for Paris Olympics 2024

Le Golf National will host the golf events of the Paris Olympics in 2024. It is an 18-hole golf course with a capacity of around 80,000 spectators. The oldest golf tournament in the European continent, the Open de France, is held annually at this venue.
