Ahead of the much-awaited Paris Olympics 2024, Indian tennis team coach Balachandran Manikkath recently caught up with the legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal at the Paris Olympics Athletes' Village. Manikkath has been in the tennis circuit for more than three decades and has mentored players such as Rohan Bopanna, Prajnesh Gunneswaran, Sriram Balaji, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, Yuki Bhambri. Balachandran Manikkath, who is brilliant in technical and strategic aspects, is currently travelling with Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji for the Paris Olympics 2024. The Indian contingent, comprising 117 athletes, including 70 men and 47 women, has started settling into the Paris Olympics Athletes' Village. The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 will take place on Friday, July 26 and will be held on the Seine River. The event will start at 11:00โฏpm IST and is expected to last more than three hours.

For the first time in history, Indian athletes have qualified to participate in 16 sporting events at the quadrennial multi-sport event in Paris.

After winning 7 medals in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, comprising 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze Medals, the Indian contingent will definitely be looking to improve their medal tally to set new world records in Olympic Games history. India started their campaign on July 25, a day before the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, with the men's and women's archery teams qualifying for the quarter-finals. However, the first medal event will start on Saturday, July 27, with the 10m air rifle event.

Can Balachandran Manikkath help India win a second tennis Olympic medal in the Paris Olympics?
Balachandran Manikkath, who is a former national doubles champion and mechanical engineer, is currently working as the chief coach at the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy (RBTA) in Bengaluru. He also played a pivotal role in the "Doubles Dream of India" project. The proceedings for the tennis tournament at the Paris Olympics 2024 are in full swing. With the Paris Olympics opening ceremony scheduled for Friday, less than 24 hours remain for the Paris Olympic tennis tournament to kickstart.

Talking about Team India Tennis Draw, the Indian tennis squad, featuring Rohan Bopanna, N. Sriram Balaji, and Sumit Nagal, are scheduled to take on French opponents for their respective tournaments. Sumit Nagal is India's sole representative in the singles tournament. Bopanna and Sriram will compete in the doubles tournament, battling against 32 teams. The Paris Olympic tennis tournament is scheduled from July 27 to August 4, and all the action will unfold on the clay courts at Roland Garros.
