India's 10m Air Pistol Mixed team of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 bronze medal match after finishing third in the qualifications with 580-20x points. The Indian duo will now play against the Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho for the Bronze medal on Tuesday, July 30. Another medal opportunity awaits for India as the pair of Sarabjot Singh-Manu Bhaker qualified for the Bronze Medal match, finishing 3rd in the rankings. As for Rythmn Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema, the pair had momentum but unfortunately crashed out as they fell to the 10th spot, losing their lead in the final series.

The Indian contingent has opened its medal tally at the Paris Olympics 2024 thanks to an amazing performance by Manu Bhaker. The 22-year-old shooter clinched the bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event. Manu Bhaker's win has ended a 12-year-long medal drought for India in shooting. Also, Manu Bhaker has become the first-ever Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting. On the other hand, India's Manu Bhaker continued her fine run at the Gun shooting games in the Paris Olympics 2024 as she and Sarbajot Singh qualified for the bronze medal match in the 10m air pistol mixed team event on Monday, July 29.

Indian pair Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh put in a stellar performance to qualify for the bronze medal match in the 10 m air pistol mixed team event on Monday, July 29. Manu and Sarbajot finished 3rd in the 10 m air pistol mixed team qualification round while Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema finished 10th in Paris on Monday. Talking about the Olympic India schedule and their performance, Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh would score 193, 195 and 192 in their 3 series as they will face Korea's Jin Ye Oh and Wonho Lee in the bronze medal match. Turkiye's Illayda Tarhan and Yusef Dikec will take on Serbia's Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec in the gold medal match. Both entertaining matches will take place on Tuesday, July 30.

How did Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh qualify for the Bronze medal match?

The bronze medal-winning performance by Manu Bhaker was the highlight of the day and the event for India amidst some disappointments on Day 2 of the Paris Olympics 2024. Manu would hit a hat-trick of 10s but Sarabjot had 3 9's in his first 6 shots, which were forcing the pair out of the top 4 spots. Rhythm and Arjun would climb to the second spot as they kept consistently hitting 10s. However, in the second series, Manu and Sarbjot hit only 10s and quickly moved to the second spot, while Rhythm and Arjun started to struggle a bit. Sarbjot shot 6 10s on the trot as the duo remained in the second spot. Arjun finished strongly in the second series but his team with Rhythm stayed out of the top 4 as the qualification round came into the final series.

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh survived the final series that went down the wire

Manu and Sarabjot hit two 9s and two 10s to start the final series and they moved to the top 2 spot. Rhythm and Arjun also slowly moved close to the top 4 spot. Unfortunately, Rhythm's poor finish with three 9s would push them out of medal contention. On the flip side, Manu Bhaker and Sarbajot Singh ended their final series with five 10s between them to qualify for the bronze medal match. With Manu Bhaker back in action tomorrow in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Bronze medal match, one thing is for sure. She is part of an elite list of India's first medallists over the years in the Olympics.
