A brilliant display from the back of the court ensured he passed the test in four sets: 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.

Talking about the latest Tennis news, Carlos Alcaraz will face Daniil Medvedev in a rematch of last year's semi-final. Medvedev defeated top seed Jannik Sinner in five sets on Tuesday. The three-time major winner defeated Medvedev, dropping just nine games in the same match last year. However, the 2020 Nitto ATP Finals champion continues to gain confidence on grass. Last year, as Daniil Medvedev advanced to the semi-finals, he declared his commitment to No.1 Court.

Having struggled with grass courts, the former US Open champion finally found his footing on the surface and began winning matches convincingly. He was unbeatable on the No.1 Court throughout his Wimbledon career, winning all nine matches. Medvedev expressed his strong affection for that court and his desire to play all his matches there. He was then moved to Centre Court and was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz. It was his first time playing on the famous old court, and it did not end well. He wasn't eager to return there anytime soon.

And so, our reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz will be pumped up after Spain's victory over mighty France in the UEFA Euro 2024 semi-final.

3. Wimbledon 2024: Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniil Medvedev Semi-final match prediction

A small adjustment to his footwork on the grass has greatly assisted Medvedev during this grass-court season. Standing closer to the baseline has allowed him to play more aggressive tennis and create even more challenging angles. This was fully on display during the Russian’s five-set win over Jannik Sinner on Tuesday. If Medvedev can force Alcaraz into uncomfortable court positions with his controlled aggression, he may be the favourite. This occurred during Medvedev’s four-set victory over Alcaraz at the US Open last summer.

However, Carlos Alcaraz is known for stepping up his game in crucial moments, and he will be mainly motivated to perform well here as he aims to defend his Wimbledon title. For Alcaraz, it is a huge motivation for most likely another final against Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz also possesses the stronger drop shot and finesse out of the two players, which frequently troubles Medvedev. The Spaniard must counter Medvedev’s powerful serve and utilize his strong forehand to gain an advantage. Ultimately, the defending champion might find extra gear to claim victory in the semi-final, which will most likely be a gruelling five-set match.
