The buzz has already reached the cusp point for the upcoming edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to be hosted in the West Indies and USA. As many as 20 teams will be participating in the group stage of the T20I competition starting from 2 June, 2024. The England team are currently the defending champions as they defeated Pakistan by a smashing margin of 5 wickets to win their second T20 World Cup title in 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. List of ICC World Cup Warm Up Matches 2024

There are a lot of teams who will be involved in their respective bilateral series in the build-up to the T20 World Cup 2024 start date i.e. 2 June, 2022 wherein hosts United States will be taking on Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. Defending champions England are all set to host Pakistan in a four-match T20I series scheduled to begin from 22 May, 2024 at the Headingley in Leeds. Therefore, both England and Pakistan have decided to skip the warm-up matches ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup. 

While talking about the schedule of the warm-up matches, Canada will be locking horns with Nepal in the opening warm-up match taking place at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on 27 May, 2024. Incidentally, the warm-up matches for the upcoming T20I tournament will be hosted at three venues namely Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, USA, Trinidad & Tobago and Broward County in the West Indies. On the other hand, Australia will be playing as many as two warm-up matches against Namibia and West Indies on 28 and 30 May, 2024 respectively. 

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season is scheduled to end with the final encounter starting on 26 May, 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Thus, India have informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that they will be featuring in a solitary warm-up fixture against Bangladesh beginning on 1 June, 2024 with the venue not yet decided. 

The 2014 T20 World Cup champions, Sri Lanka, have already reached the United States to start off with their preparations for the forthcoming mega event. Sri Lanka's first warm-up game is scheduled against Netherlands will take place on May 28, 2024 at the Broward County while their second practice match against Ireland is scheduled on 31 May, 2024. Incidentally, South Africa will be locking horns with West Indies in three T20I matches ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 and all of these games will be played at the Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. Following these three T20I matches, South Africa are not scheduled to play any warm-up fixture and they will be played an intra-squad game on 29 May, 2024. 

While talking about the schedule of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the big ticket India vs Pakistan match will be taking place on 9 June, 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. India's first match in the mega event is against Ireland scheduled on 5 June, 2024 in New York, United States. Team India will definitely depend a lot in the mega event on right-arm speedster Jasprit Bumrah, who is regarded as the best bowler in the world at this moment and he might be rested for the ICC World Cup Warm Up Matches. 

Group A of the T20 World Cup 2024 includes arch-rivals, India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and USA while the Group B comprises of Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman and England. On the other hand, the Group C features teams like West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, PNG and New Zealand while Group D includes South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal.
