1. Praveen Kumar
Surprisingly, right-arm pacer Praveen Kumar holds the record for hitting the longest six in the Indian Premier League history by an Indian cricketer. During the 2013 edition of the IPL, he smashed a brilliant six off Mumbai Indians' veteran pace bowler Lasith Malinga that was measured an astonishing 124 meters in length. This is also the fifth longest six in cricket so far after Shahid Afridi (153 meters), Brett Lee (130 meters), Martin Guptill (127 meters) and Albie Morkel (125 meters).
2. Robin Uthappa
While playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Robin Uthappa smacked the second biggest six by an India player in the history of the Indian Premier League. He achieved the feat back in IPL 2010 when he hit a thunderous six which was as huge as 120 meters. The swashbuckling right-handed batsman won the Orange Cap with the Kolkata Knight Riders winning the IPL 2014 season having scored a total of 660 runs from 16 games at a fine average of 44. In his entire career, Uthappa has notched up a total of 4952 runs from as many as 205 IPL games at a strike-rate of 130.35 that includes 27 half-centuries.
3. Yuvraj Singh
India's dynamic batsman Yuvraj Singh is at the third position when talking about Indian players with the longest six in the IPL history. While captaining the Kings XI Punjab team in the Indian Premier League 2009 season, the swashbuckling southpaw became the biggest cricket update when he smashed an excellent six which measured 119 meters in length. Before announcing his IPL retirement, he had recorded a total of 149 sixes in the cash-rich T20 league. Yuvraj has racked up 2750 IPL runs from 132 matches at a strike-rate of 129.72 that comprises of 13 fifties.
4. Gautam Gambhir
It must be amusing for some of the cricket fanatics that Gautam Gambhir is part of the list that includes the players who have hit the biggest six in cricket IPL history. He was the captain who led the Kolkata Knight Riders during both their title wins in IPL 2012 and 2014 seasons. In the 2013 Indian Premier League season, Gambhir blasted a remarkable six of 117 meters which was also regarded as one of the best strokes of that edition of the T20 competition. While talking about his entire IPL career stats, the left-hander has scored 4218 runs in 154 matches at an average of 31.01. Gambhir has also smashed a total of 59 sixes in his IPL career and scored a total of 36 half-centuries.
5. MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni is arguably one of the biggest center figures in the entire history of the Indian Premier League. Under his captaincy, the Chennai Super Kings won the IPL trophy in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. The big-hitting wicket-keeper batsman holds the fifth position amongst Indian cricketers who have hit the longest six in cricket Indian Premier League tournament history. Dhoni smashed a blistering six measuring 115 meters in length during the IPL 2009 season. With every next Indian Premier League season, the former India World Cup-winning captain is definitely rolling back the clock with his staggering leadership skills and towering sixes. MS Dhoni has notched up a total of 5169 runs from as many as 257 IPL matches so far at an average of close to 40 and a strike-rate of 137. He has hit a total of 247 IPL sixes and also scored as many as 24 half-centuries. He is also second in the list of most runs in IPL playoffs.
