Paris Olympics 2024, Day 11: Check Out India Schedule On August 6

India, on Monday, missed out on another medal as Lakshya Sen faced defeat in the bronze medal match of the men’s singles badminton tournament at the Paris Olympics. Losing the semifinal match against the eventual gold medal winner, Viktor Axelsen, Lakshya Sen advanced to the bronze medal match against Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia. The 22-year-old showed promise in the initial set, winning it 21-13. However, the world number 7 ranked Malaysian player quickly got the hang of the game, subsequently dominating Sen in the second and third games. The match ended in Jia’s favor, who won it 21-13, 16-21, 11-21.

Later on Monday, the Indian wrestling campaign suffered an early setback as Nisha Dahiya sustained a severe injury in the quarterfinal of the 69 kg category. Competing against Korea’s Sol Gum Pak, Dahiya lost the match 8-10 after sustaining the injury. Specifically, the injury affected Nisha’s hand, where she first dislocated her finger. In a statement released later, the IOA informed that Dahiya had also suffered a “severe shoulder injury.”

Day 11 Schedule For India At 2024 Paris Olympics

While Monday brought heartbreak for the Indian contingent, Tuesday will feature gold medalist Neeraj Chopra in action. The javelin thrower will finally kickstart his Paris Olympics campaign on August 6th. Moreover, after a historic quarter-final win over Great Britain, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team will take on Germany in the semi-final clash on Tuesday. Thus, August 6th is marked as an unmissable day for the Indian audience following the action at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
